The short version: HomeStox is a free app for tracking household inventory with the people you live with. Keep your account secure, don't misuse the service, and remember that anything you put in a shared home is visible to everyone in it. We provide the app as-is and can't promise it will never lose data — so don't rely on it as your only record of anything that matters.
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Codedelights ("we," "us"), the publisher of HomeStox. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use HomeStox. By using the app you confirm you meet that requirement.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the app. Provide an accurate email address — it is how you recover access and how others invite you to a home.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@codedelights.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone else.
4. Shared homes
HomeStox is built around shared households, and that has consequences worth stating plainly:
- Everything you add to a home — items, notes, prices, purchase history — is visible to every member of that home.
- Members can edit and delete content in a home, including content you added.
- A home owner can invite and remove members, rename the home, and delete it along with everything in it.
- Only invite people you trust with the contents of that home. We can't undo what a member does to shared content.
- When you invite someone, you're providing us their email address for that purpose. Only invite people who would expect it.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use HomeStox to:
- Break any law, or infringe anyone's rights.
- Store or share content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
- Gain unauthorised access to any account, home, or part of our infrastructure, or probe or test its security without permission.
- Disrupt the service — including automated scraping, flooding, or overloading it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the app, except where that restriction is unenforceable by law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, generally with notice where practical.
6. Your content
The inventory, notes, and purchase records you create are yours. You keep all rights to them. You grant us only the narrow licence needed to run the service — storing your content, displaying it back to you, and sharing it with the members of the homes you join. We claim no ownership and make no other use of it.
You're responsible for the content you add and for having the right to add it.
7. The app itself
The HomeStox app, its name, and its design belong to us. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Nothing more is transferred.
8. Availability and changes
HomeStox is currently free. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. We may also discontinue it entirely — if we do, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data where feasible.
If we introduce paid features in future, we won't start charging for something you already have without telling you first.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on third-party infrastructure for hosting, authentication, and push notification delivery — see the Privacy Policy for who they are. Their availability is outside our control, and interruptions there can affect the app.
10. Disclaimer
HomeStox is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
Put practically: this is a household inventory app, not a system of record. Don't rely on it as your only copy of financial or otherwise important information.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising from your use of HomeStox — even if we were advised such damages were possible.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months (currently zero, as the app is free) or USD 50.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Termination
You may stop using HomeStox at any time and delete your account from Settings — see the Data Deletion page for exactly what that removes. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 6, 7, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use HomeStox after a change means you accept the updated terms.
